benefits for yachts
Whether you are a captain, yacht owner or industry affiliate, your support for humanitarian projects benefits you while helping those communities in need.
Crew retention
Enabling crew who are keen to volunteer with the support to do so, ensures your favourite team members return to the boat grounded, more motivated and loyal to the programme.
SMOOTH OPERATion
Crew retention means less time and money spent on recruitment. Keeping the expertise onboard means the boat is safer, more efficient and guests are greeted by familair faces.
attract the best
A reputation for longevity, high crew morale and a philanthropic vision will transform the boat. Take your pick of the good crew, and attract guests looking for a yacht with a difference.
Crew wellbeing
It’s proven that volunteering, and connecting with a sense of purpose, can boost happiness and reduce depression and anxiety. Volunteers return to the boat with a fresh perspective and positive outlook set to ripple through the crew mess.
profile
Donating to the projects crew are supporting is an easy way to meet environmental and social benchmarks and help highlight the positives coming from the industry.
How to integrate a volunteering programme on your boat
No two boats are the same, but here some options to start the ball rolling.
Volunteering Time Off (VTO)
If the yacht is parked during off-season and the maintenance checklist is under control, then you may consider introducing a VTO Programme where crew are granted leave to engage in meaningful volunteering projects
Volunteer Fund
We understand crew with rotation have it good. However, some boats are now including budget for a volunteer fund where crew can apply for help with the costs connected to volunteering.
All in
You see volunteering for the asset it is and crew are given an annual volunteering allowance - to use or not - which covers any costs associated with a volunteer trip. The annual budget also includes funding that can be donated towards the same projects crew are supporting.
Dry Dock Days
If you can’t live or work onboard, get in touch and we’ll make a plan for crew to keep their skills sharp, minds open and brains engaged with some rewarding volunteering projects.
Bespoke
Let’s chat about how we could put together a bespoke volunteering programe that makes your yacht more attractive to work on.
Who benefits
This is the cool part, everyone does.
Yachts
By enabling crew to volunteer, you’ll retain the quality team members who are more invested in the boat. Keeping their skills and knowledge onboard ensures the boat is safer, smoother and the guest experience is improved.
Less time / money is spent on recruitment and the yacht’s connection to humanitarian projects makes it even more desirable to work on and charter.
Crew
Have a meaningful way to spend their time off, volunteering with a purpose through non-profits we know and trust.
They get to experience new cultures, reset from the boat, use their skills to help those in need and connect with humanity on a new level.
Yachting industry
By financially supporting the volunteer projects crew are involved with, the yachting industry takes a step toward meeting key environmental, social, and development goals.
This human-centred approach demonstrates the positive impact the industry can have on the world, showcasing its commitment to global responsibility and meaningful change.
Non-profits
Increase their output and positive impact thanks to human and capital resources from the yachting industry.
Collectively, we help thousands of people who genuinely need it have a better quality of life.
